I feel like I've completely been slacking off on updating people. Its been forever and it wasn't till tonight at my 10 yr reunion (yes 10 yrs i know i know I'm old) that i realized i REALLY need to keep people updated so they stop asking and i tell the story 5 different times.
This summer has been really FUN and totally laid back. Matt loves the beach and we try to go there as much as possible. We realized just how much he loves the water when he went straight first into like all little kids would and fell over and got a little stuck. He was doing so well but i think the excitement just got to be a little much and he just went in head first. He was a little scared and still is now (thankfully for me) so now hes pretty careful and will only go in so far unless he has someone there right beside him. He just loves being in the sand and water and I'm so glad that he likes it so much. Since he needs protected from the sun as well we bought him a cool little hat and now he is in LOVE with hats. He likes wearing them and will just find a random hat to wear. Just too darn cute.
Speech has been going well. Still no words but he tries to make a lot of different sounds so that's the next step in the right direction. He really tries and all the ideas are working really well. He just loves being around bigger kids so hopefully he will pick up on more language then just us.
Speaking of big kids Matt is slowly transitioning into the bigger kids room. Sometimes he'll spend most of the day in there other times just a small portion of the day. Makes me sad to think he is getting so big that he wont be in the baby room anymore. I remember when we first brought him in he was one of the smaller kids in the room and now hes the bigger kid. I'm just so glad that all the girls work through out the rooms so he is familiar with all of them and it wont be such a big change. They are so awesome and i am so thankful for them and everything they do for Matt. I know he likes it there because he is always sooo happy when i pick him up. Obviously he is just excited to see me but hes never crying, he never seems sad and he always gives them kisses when he leaves (at least blows them kisses).
NO COLDS!!!! Can you believe that. Matt and me both got a little cold but HE OVERCAME IT!! I seriously can not think of a single cold that hasn't lingered and he has had to get antibiotics for. Its just crazy how much he has came and how much more healthier he is since his surgery. Its just such a dramatic change. The only problem now is is bowels and its been a process trying to figure out how much fiber to give him every day and what works the best for him. Someday we'll figure it out and make his little tush better.
Overall its been a great summer. Hes been spending A LOT of time with his dad and he loves it and I'm so grateful that things work between our schedules and hes with either me or Ryan. I couldn't ask for a better dad for Matt because you can totally tell he cares about him with all his heart and would do anything....what a dad!!
My goal now is to just keep weekly updates (right hu!!) That way not only myself but everyone else has a more accurate reading of Matt!!!
