Where does the time go??.....
Well it goes by fast when you get 2 new teeth!! Matt now has two top and two bottom with the two top being most recent. This time he fussed and fussed and was miserable for about 2 weeks. You could tell that they were hurting him and there was nothing we could do....orajel in the q-tips are our favorite thing...he makes the funniest faces when you stick it in his mouth and he gets it on his tongue or lips but boy does it help.
Yesterday Matt went to the eye Dr hopefully for the last time BUT...he now goes back again in 3 months because he has an astigmatism in his eye that was droopy so shes going to put some drops in it to dilate it to see if there is a vision problem. Other than the the droopy eye is looking good she said...it might be more of a cosmetic thing that they aren't proportioned right but other than that it looks good. I pray that nothing else will happen and that his vision is fine for now.
While we were in Spokane at the eye Dr we stopped by Riverfront Park to play in the grass and talk to the many ducks and geese. He was pretty excited to see so many birds and you could tell that he just wanted to get up and chase them all...he was trying to while holding my hands it was pretty cute. We were sitting in front of the rides down by the water and this Goose just popped out of the water and walked right over to Matt within a foot of him. My heart was racing and i was hoping that it would decide that Matt was a meal or that he had something in his hand. Matt reached out for him and the goose's neck went back...Matt reached out again and it hopped back a few steps walked away then turned around and hissed then went back into the water. I think he was telling us it wasn't nice to pretend we had food. It was pretty comical...if only someone was taping it. Matt LOVED the grass....hes a touchy feely kid and loves to feel textures in his hands so he thought the grass was pretty cool. I cant wait till our yard is dry and he can play in the grass and have fun outside.
We went to Moscow this last weekend for my first long solo trip with Matt...it went pretty good except he cried from the casino all the way to the rest area before Potlatch. It was so nice outside once we got down there. The U of I logger sports team was having their annual show and some of Ryan's friends would be there so we went to visit. We also visited my cousin Kate and her boyfriend Jimmy which is always nice because i miss seeing her as much as i used to. Matt loved all the attention he was getting and did a pretty good job while we were down there. He now thinks that hes a big boy and doesn't need to go to bed though till 7 or so since we've been back.
Matt has also moved to his big boy car seat as of the 5th. His legs were dangling out of the "baby" car seat and he has surpassed the height limit for it. I think he likes the big boy seat a little better because he isn't so confined. It sucks though when i pick him up from Ryan's at night because when you pick him up while hes sleeping he wakes up but as soon as hes back in the seat hes asleep...hopefully he will learn to just stay asleep and rest his head on your shoulders.
Hes is sitting up and moving a ton. He cant crawl yet but he can turn himself in a circle when hes on his stomach. He loves loves loves the walker and is pretty good about navigating it through the small kitchen...he will follow you or the dogs. He will try to get into anything so you have to move the garbage and the laundry baskets or he'll knock them over.
He is starting to get a little bit of separation anxiety and when i leave a room if i don't talk to him while I'm walking away he will kinda freak out. Or if someone he doesn't know is holding him he will look to you to make sure its OK so you have to have a smile on your face or he'll cry.
Things with school are going good but now that Ryan is back to work it will be a challenge to figure out a schedule of who can watch Matt and when and for how long...ugh the joys of motherhood. BUT i wouldn't change it for the world because when they smile up at you it just melts your heart and you wouldn't want it any other way.
