6 Months

So its that time again.....where do i begin??

Matt can now roll all over both ways and into some odd spots. I'll put him down in the crib for the night and when he wakes up hes at the other end int he opposite direction...boy can he move. He loves his new high-chair and knows that when hes in that its time to eat and his mouth is open and ready for the food. Hes eating most of the food i give him, hes still partial to the fruits and veggies and doesn't like the mixed dinners yet. Soon enough though. He loves bananas but I'm trying not to feed them to him as much because they plug him up, he loves carrots and he still gets a rash when he has sweet potatoes so we wont try those for quit a while.

He can almost sit up on his own...hes getting there. You can sit him up and he'll sit there for like 10 seconds at the most all by himself then he'll topple over one way or another. He doesn't like it too much and still arches his back. He still hasn't figured out the walker but we don't have much of a smooth surface except for in the kitchen so we practice every now and then though.

Cheap diapers irritate his skin so we have to go with the expensive ones....can only have the best right. He loves being naked and reaches for his toes and tries to eat them...I'm just waiting for the day that he chomps down on them because it doesn't feel to hot. He loves to eat your fingers and thinks chins are the best thing in the world. He is fascinated with the dogs but they don't stay still long enough for him to grab them, although sometimes Little Ann will lay next to him and they will play for a little while. Lady is super protective of me and Matt so she will be a good watch dog but i think Little Ann will be the one he wants to play with.

Matt LOVES the bath but now I'm scared cuz he thinks he can roll over in the tub. I've been looking for a thing to sit in the bathtub for him but they don't sell any at walmart, kmart or target so i think I'm just destined to buy one online. He'll be able to use it for a while so i dont feel bad spending the $20 to get one for him. I just hope he'll like it.

Ryan is still watching him while i try a feeble attempt to work. He loves his dad and you can see it when Ryan gets her to come and watch him and hes just starting to wake up from his morning nap. Its super cute and he gets this HUGE smile on his face and if hes really awake he gets excited and kicks his feet. Ryan is awesome with him and i just wish me or him could watch him all the time so he wouldn't have to go to daycare. I just keep telling myself that when he goes he'll make friends and learn how to be nice to kids and all that other important stuff they learn from being around other kids.

I've been working about 10 hours a week which is lame so now I'm collecting unemployment just to help pay my bills. SO since it is so lousy and i pretty much wasted 4 yrs of school for nothing and thousands of dollars in debt I'm going back to get my CNA license. I start on the 9th of March and I'm over the 14th of May and i cant wait. Every time i look on job service i see tons of jobs for CNA and if you find the right place to work you make some decent money. I just want to be able to have steady hours and an income coming in that i can depend on. It will all work out in the end i know it and i have faith that it will.

I am also the proud new owner of a camcorder so now i can tape all those special little moments that I'll be able to look back on when hes older and smile. I just have to figure out how to get them onto my computer so that is at the top of my list for things to do this month.

WE went for a walk the other day with my cousin Katie and Aunt Pam down the dover bike path with their new dog. Matt was in the awesome back carrier i got at a yard sale for a steal of a deal and he like it. He looked around for most of the walk then conked out. He fit in it really nice and didn't seem to mind it. It will be nice once the weather gets nicer and i can get out and go walking and get into shape for my cousins wedding that I'll be in at the end of this summer. It would be nice to have a jogging stroller that way i can go on long walks with him and run...I'm currently on the lookout for one.

He goes in on the 7th to get his pictures taken for Terrific Tots so that will be interesting to see if he smiles or not. We've been practicing ways to make him smile on cue...its been fun. He goes in on the 9th of March for his 6 month check up so we'll see then how much he weighs and how much longer he has gotten. He'll also be getting his shots so that will be a very sad day especially since that's also the first day i start classes so I wont be able to cuddle him that nite and comfort him.

All in all it might not seem like a busy month but it has been and its flying by.

5 months and growing!!

I always say how time flies by my does the time go by fast now. He has grown up so much and is becoming his own little person. Lots of big firsts in the last month for him so where do i begin...

We went to Seattle towards the middle of January and visited our friend Jake who was in the hospital. It was nice to see him and visit the few days that we were there and let him know he has our support. We stayed with my cousin Jacquie so that was nice and she was excited to see the baby...even when we got in at 1am she was all ready for us. I love going over there and visiting i just cant wait to take Matt back there when he's a little older so he can do all the fun stuff with us. Traveling with a baby isn't that bad but we opted to travel at night to save us the grief of dealing with a baby who doesn't like sitting in the car seat for more than a few hours but he did great. So all in all we survived our first big cross state adventure in one piece.

Two weekends after that we ventured down to Moscow to spend the weekend there. The main purpose of the trip was to go to a spaghetti feed for Jake to help with medical expenses and visit with old friends. We stayed with my cousin Kate..I LOVE AND MISS HER SO!!! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful family who will put us up when we come and visit, even with a baby. The weekend was great. I got to visit with the family i babysat for while i was going to school and they got to see the new baby...my how kids grow!! Seems like just yesterday i was pushing Kyle and Keeahna on the swings in their back yard. I miss Moscow and wish i could make it my permanent home....its the perfect distance from Sandpoint...not too far but not too close. It was great being able to see so many people in just one weekend.

When we came home from Moscow the next day 1/26/09 Matt sprouted his 1st TOOTH!! I couldn't believe it!! He has woken up and likes to chew on my fingers so i put on in his mouth and he chomped down and boy did it hurt. I was surprised because he showed no signs at all of teething....hes always chewed on things so that was nothing new. Two days later the 2nd little tooth popped through!! Two teeth within a week and he was great, didn't fuss at all.

Hes now eating 3 times a day and still keeps up with all his normal bottles so that is good. He LOVES bananas but isn't so fond of the veggies but were still trying. Hopefully now that hes on fruits and veggies he wont have so many problems going to the bathroom but only time will tell. I just wish it wasn't so hard on him....i try and do everything i can to help but it doesn't seem to.

He is also rolling from his stomach to back and back to stomach so his new bed is now his crib and its very nice because now I'm getting more sleep and i can let him just lay in there and talk to himself in the morning while i am trying to get some last minute z's until I'm ready to get up for the day....which isn't much longer after he gets up so don't think i leave him in there all morning. His insistent talking gets me going.

I've also finally decided to get all his shots...yes i know I've been putting them off till i was ready and now I'm ready so he'll be up date. It just took me a bit of research and some patience but I'm ready...now only if it didn't hurt him so much.

So as you can see a lot has happened in the last month. Stay tuned as I'm sure there will be more to come.
